About Best-Of-The-Best

My emotions were in many places when Deborah first made me aware she would only be able to lead the Best-Of-The-Best (BOTB) for a few more months due to health issues.  Deborah wanted her legacy to continue, to be remembered, and to reach new heights where possible. After thinking long and hard Deborah chose to entrust her passion for the game to me, and stated, “I’m not taking "No" for an answer!”   

Best-Of-The-Best (BOTB) is a Bid Whist tournament environment which is fun, safe, and competitive for individuals of all age groups to come and enjoy a game of which our ancestors of many years ago left a legacy. A group of card players who bring a variety of skill sets to play at the highest level of Bid Whist from diverse backgrounds, age groups, education levels, careers, small business owners, retirement, and disabled. We play with the young, elderly, and individuals who have suffered multiple strokes, amputation, diabetes, high blood pressure, fibromyalgia and other widespread illnesses. Many have suffered traumatic childhoods, all types of PTSD, and other stress provoking life issues in which many have come to know and/or have heard. Grandparents, parents, students, and those in the work force at all levels come out to play. 

An all-time favorite card game of Bid Whist one can come out once a month for a few hours, and let go of all life’s problems bringing their best game to the table.

We play two (2) tournaments, one (1) Saturday every month, and the tournament games are 6-Card Kitty and No Kitty (playing from the strength of your hand). Winning is based on sheets then points, and it is four (4) rounds four (4) hands each sheet.  BOTB score keeper does not play, and has no investment in the game. Each tournament is $20 per person and three (3) winning teams’ place, and are awarded 70% of the payout and a medal.  Registration begins at 6pm and the location is Club 291 VIP suite. An annual Christmas party is held every year in which the "Deborah Hutchinson" award is presented. Overall wins Sheets/Points, Points, and Sheets are awarded twice a year to the three (3) top players.
